Miracles happen every day.

Tim and I have been training for a 41 mile corporate cycling challenge bike ride for months, riding 15 to 18 miles a day.  Until last tuesday when I turned too quickly and my tire found a nice pile of dirt and down I went.   I again was visited by my guardian angel cause I escaped with out a single visible mark.  A possible torn ligament in my right knee and pain in my hip but I'm healing.  I had to get off somehow before I became part of the road.  Don't know exactly how I did it.  Can't wait til I can ride or run again.

This is what the pedal looks like on the left side, completely fine.

Tim had to fix this part.  The metal is ground pretty smooth.

This is the right pedal.  Glad it was the pedal and not my leg.

My poor bike....

My poor knee...

YIKES! I'm so glad you are alright! I'm sorry that your bike got scratched up though. I hope you're back to pedaling away in no time!

Remember that time we came to your house and you took me on a bike ride with you? You should know that I loved it! But thank you for not asking me to ride 41 miles...

We miss you all!

I am missing my bike! I can't bend my knee far enough to get back on yet, but I am healing. Knees just take a long time. I am glad you enjoyed the lake ride and wish we could do it again soon!

MRI results are back. Turns out I tore my MCL (which will heal itself if I protect it with a $220.00 brace.) Ruptured my ACL (which I will have surgery to replace it with a couple pieces of my hamstring tendons October 22nd.) Bruised the bones on the outside of my knee and somehow caused fissures in the cartilage. No sports for 6 months after surgery. Should be all better and ready to train for Scandinavian run by April 2013.
